AN open day is being held to discuss how a derelict church can be brought back to life.

Local people have been working with The Churches Conservation Trust for the last five years to find a way of bringing All Souls Church in Bolton back into use.

They now plan to turn the Astley Street church into a community centre and want to share their vision with other local people.

Inayat Omarji, project manager for the All Souls Community Centre, said: "We want to redevelop the church as a community centre and open it up as a one stop shop for the local community."

The open day will be held at the church between noon and 4pm on Saturday and people are invited to look at the proposals For more information about the project visit www.allsoulsbolton.org.uk.
