As part of the conversion of the church into a business and community centre, staff of All Souls Bolton collected photographs from various archives and peoples’ personal collections. These pictures are displayed digitally on screens in the building and have proved to be very interesting to visitors, who quite often recognise something or someone from their past. ‘Memory bunting’ created using the same images would have a similar appeal through a different medium, and will link the building with its historical family as a new community grows within it. This is a ‘many hands’ project; anybody is welcome to join in the making of the bunting, in a relaxed, informal and enjoyable setting. You can make one flag, or a hundred flags; the finished bunting will be hung at All Souls for events and open days. Workshops run on the following Thursdays from 1pm – 3pm at All Souls, where you will be guided by artist Mary Rudkin.
